Halloween Party

Me and my favorite co-workers

It's been a long time since I have actually dressed up for Halloween so I thought this year I would think of something good and dress up. I work for the State of Utah and we had a little Halloween party today and a costume contest. And I won!!! I was a pregnant nun and I was a little hesitant to wear it since it could be a little offensive to someone who is Catholic. But it turned out ok and everyone loved it!

David's Home!!

Time flies and I can't believe David is already home! For those of you who don't know, he served an LDS mission in Mexico City. He got home October 6th and then all of the family, well almost all, were able to go home for his homecoming talk. It was such a nice weekend and David did a great job. It's fun to have him home. At first he sounded like a little Mexican but I think his accent is gone and he is back to the same little David he has always been.

Since David came home on a Monday it was hard for very many of us to be at the airport..sad I know! But, as you can see, my creative Mom drew faces on balloons to represent everyone in our family!!

Me and My Belly

So here it is ladies and gentleman....my baby bump! I still don't understand how I could get any bigger but it seems to happen every day! Carter is getting so big and he is such a busy body!! It makes me nervous for when he is born, I bet he will be such a wiggle worm! We are working on his room so stay tuned for some pics of the little nursery!!!

We live for BYU football!!!

Like the title says, we live for BYU football. It's my favorite time of the year! But I'll admit..I was a little nervous when Mike said he wanted to paint his face for the BYU vs. UCLA game. I guess since I'm graduated I just feel like I'm past that phase in life but I have to remember that my cute hubby is still living it. I think he would have done it even if I didn't want him to so I guess it's a good thing I decided in my mind that I didn't care. Don't worry, him and Jake weren't like most people who paint their faces. They behaved themselves. But then again it was pretty easy to since we killed UCLA!!! Yeah..go BYU!!!!

Jake and Mike
Jake looked so funny but putting sun glasses on really helped tone it down. Ha ha..I still just have to laugh when I look at them.

Fine Dining experience

Last month me and Mike celebrated our one year anniversary. We went up to Midway to celebrate and stayed at The Blue Boar Inn. It was during the Olympics and I don't know about most of you, but me and Mike really got into the swimming part of the olympics. Needless to say, Michael Phelps is amazing! So on Friday night, instead of going on a nice romantic dinner date we ended up getting sucked into the olympics. Well, when we got hungry we decided to just go downstairs to the restaurant they have to eat quick so we wouldn't miss Michael Phelps next event. In our shorts and flip flops we walked down and right away the server asked if we had reservations. Right as we told them no, they quickly told us it was ok and that they would have a spot available for us shortly. As we looked around we noticed that everyone in the restaurant was in nice collard shirts, some of the women were in dresses, and EVERYONE was sitting upright and with thier hands in their lap and everything! We were hoping they would just seat us on the side or in the back but no...right smack dab in the middle of the entire restaurant. And the restaurant isn't that big! I felt like everyone was looking at us and judging our appearance but we went ahead anyway. The menu had courses on it so we were all flustered with ordering...I didn't want four courses but didn't know if I was allowed to order something from the 3 course menu first! Well, we ended up just ordering what we wanted and paying more for one meal than we had planned on spending the entire weekend and we missed Michael Phelps because they took their sweet time with us. The food was delicious and we had a good laugh. It was a great weekend and I recommend the Blue Boar Inn to anyone who is looking for a nice close getaway. But if you want to eat their food, make sure you bring nice clothes and a few extra bucks!

This is the top of our wedding cake that we saved. Believe it or not it still tasted really good! Thanks to a great cake maker who knows how to wrap and store a wedding cake (thanks Michelle!)!!

Highest point in the lower 48 states....

And my husband has been there!!! I want to take a moment and brag about my family...I am so proud of Mike and everyone who climbed Mt. Whitney! What an accomplishment! AND he went alone with my brothers and Dad...that's pretty brave. They spent a week and backpacked through the Sierra mountains and ended up on the top of Mt. Whitney their last day of hiking. Meanwhile, me, my Mom, and sister-in-law Michelle spent the week in St. George relaxing and shopping for baby stuff! It was a nice vacation...here are some pics

What a hottie! This is Mike on the Summit of Mt. Whitney.

These guys are the mountain men themselves, Andrew, Courtney (she didn't hike), Bryan, Dad, and Mike.

This is the throne they sat on...apparently it was a hit! They all talked about how nice it was to be in wide open nature relieving themselves!

The temple and my scruffy husband...both rather beautiful sites in my opinion :)

Family Reunion

At Michelle's request, I have decided to update our blog. I really have been meaning to do it since these pictures are from our family reunion two weeks ago! For the 4th of July we went up to Yellowstone and Bozeman, Montana. My parents both lived in Bozeman and that's where they met. My Dad's family and my Mom's family were good friends and the two of them fell in love one summer while working at my Dad's dude ranch called The Rainbow Ranch. Anyway, the vacation was very much needed and just a little too short. But here are the pics from our fun adventure.

We started the trip by meeting my parents at the south entrance to Yellowstone which meant that we got to drive through Teton National Park. And anyone who really knows me knows how much I love the beautiful tetons.

This is a picture of just one of the many hot pots at Yellowstone. I thought this one was the prettiest so that's why it made the blog. Too bad they stink so bad because some of them are so pretty!

I don't think Mike was ready for the picture but here is part of my wonderful family. It was so fun to be with all of them :)

These little kids I'm walking past were so funny. I overheard them saying "every time you put your hand in you can keep it in a little longer". For those of you who have never been to Yellowstone, the hot pots are all about 170 degrees F. I don't think the one they were sticking their hands in was that hot, but I couldn't help but laugh and then wonder where in the world their parents were!

We spent a day floating down the Madison river. My parents were on a row boat with all the grandkids and then some of my siblings were on tubes. It was pretty tame so we decided that we could switch tubes/kayaks by just getting out and standing while we made the switch. It worked for the majority of the float down the river...except for the one time Mike had a hard time getting back in his Kayak and he tipped over!! It was really funny until I realized our camera was in that Kayak.
Yup, it's ruined.

And that's why this picture is so crappy. We had to buy a cheap fun saver on our way out of the park so we could get pictures of Old Faithful. You can't go to Yellowstone without getting a picture with Old Faithful.
Overall it was a fun trip. We camped the entire time at a KOA campground. I know, a lot of you probably are thinking that we are white trash, but actually, some of those campgrounds are really nice! We got a good one and had a blast! Now it's back to real life...
