Lots of good news and some bad...

First the good news....

Andrew got his mission call!! He is going to South Carolina, Columbia. He is really excited and is going to be a REALLY great missionary! We are going to miss him but I already can't wait for him to get home. He leaves July 1st. The funny thing is that my older brother Jeff actually lives about an hour away from his mission home. So we may have to make a little trip out to Jeff's house soon!!!
Also....Carter had his pictures taken! First we went to Kiddie Candid and the pictures turned out
ok but I will NEVER go back again. First of all the lady kept screaming in his face to get him to smile (3 month olds aren't usually into that) and the entire mall can walk by and watch you take the pictures. Then they only take about 10 pictures and make you chose 6 on the spot and they delete the rest. THEN if you want to keep any you have to give up your first born! Just kidding about that last part but seriously, they are so expensive! So I walked out of there disappointed and then the other day we went to Target. WAY better experience. The studio is behind closed doors so it's nice and quiet with no distractions. They are so much more personable and take about 50 shots, all of which you can keep. The lady holds the camera in her own hands so she can shoot from any angle and if you can find a coupon, which you always can on their website, you can get a great deal! We ordered $75 dollars worth of pictures and paid $30. Here is a small preview with more pictures to come!

More good news...
COLTON
DAVID LINDDQUIST
was born on March 25th. He was a bit stubborn getting here but he is SO cute and we are glad he is part of the family! Mike's side of the family has almost doubled in one year! All his brothers have had a kid in the last year, including him!

Now the bad news....
We had to get Utah plates on the car. We officially own the car and the Colorado registration was going to expire so we had to bite the bullet and change the plates. Now I have no way to distinguish my car from all the other Corolla's out there. We are now "one of them" and it's been really hard on me and her(meaning the car). But it has given us a new motivation to get out of Utah!! The sooner we do the sooner those plates go away!!

2.5 months old

It's amazing how fast babies grow! Carter is already 13.9 pounds and has grown 3 inches since hew as born only 2 and 1/2 months ago!! He is learning new tricks and is constantly exploring the world around him...he's pretty cute!

My little escape artist...he always escapes from his swaddle!!

A blank stare..that usually means he's tired.

Carter discovers his tongue

Thursday, February 5, 2009

I thought I would put up a few more pictures of our cute little monkey. He is now 6 weeks old! Can you believe how fast time flies! He now weights 11 pounds and 5 ounces. He has been a fussy little guy but is starting to figure out life and making it a little easier for me. We love him to death and can't believe how stinkin' cute he is!!!

Our little champ!! I thought I swaddled him pretty tight..apparently not. He likes to sleep with his arms above his head..another reason why he sooo cute!!

He also loves to just chill with his dad. I hate that he cries all day long and then as soon as Dad comes home he is a little angel.

Asleep in his swing! Seriously, swings are so great! They save me from hours of rocking and he responds way better to them than his own mom!

His little puppy lips, he totally gets that from his dad and it gets me every time! He definitely has me wrapped around his little finger.
I love that his binky is almost as big as his face!

Carter Michael Lindquist

He's here! And he made it just in time for Christmas! Sunday night we had gone up to Midway to spend Christmas at my Uncle's cabin. It's about 1/2 hour away from Provo so we figured if something happened we could make it down the mountain in time. I though for sure he would come late so we didn't even pack my hospital bag! Well....monday morning at about 4:30 am I was woken up by my water breaking (not a very pleasant experience). About a half hour later contractions started so we headed down the mountain. Of course this Christmas week has been the snowiest one I have seen in Utah so going down the mountain and into Provo took, what felt like to me, hours! But it really only took 45 min. By the time we got to the hospital I was in a ton of pain and dialated to a 4. They gave me the epidural, a double dose because I was in so much pain! And at 11:22 am little Carter was born. A whopping 10 pounds 2 ounces with chubby cheeks, a double chin and all!! We are so proud of our little chunky monkey! He's been through a lot already! The poor little guy was born with fluid in his lungs so he had to go to the NICU. Once they got the fluid out they found out his glucose levels were really low. So he had to stay longer and have a tub to give him some food. Finally at about 4:30 that day he was allowed to see his Mommy. Mike was able to stay with him the entire time he was in the NICU so Carter was never alone. He also has Jaundice, you probably can tell in the pictures. So for the past 2 nights he has had to sleep on a bed of bright lights. We take him to the doctor every day so he can get checked and his jaundice levels are dropping so hopefully he wont have to be under bright lights for too much longer. But we love him so much...we never knew it was possible to love so quickly and so easily and so much! Here are a few pics of the cutie pie.

This is the face he makes after he eats...can you tell he is satisfied?!!!

my little basketball

I can't believe it's been over a month since I last posted! I seriously feel like time is going so slow and that I just posted about my sisters twins yesterday, but obviously I'm wrong. The picture above isn't the greatest but it was taken about a week ago...at week 36.5 for me. I've been having a hard time sleeping so the fact that I'm up and dressed on my day off is a huge accomplishment for me!! And you can't really tell in the picture but my hair is clean! So I was feeling pretty good about myself, hence the picture. Carter is due in about 2 weeks and he seems to be doing pretty good. I'm sure he is all comfy and cozy inside of me with absolutely no plans of coming anytime soon...which believe it or not, I'm ok with. I really don't want him to be born right before Christmas or even on Christmas day. Mostly because I don't want to be in the hospital on Christmas day but also because the poor kid would have to compete with the best holiday of the year! I'm guessing and hoping he will come on December 27th...and it will probably be at night time because that's when he is the most active. Any one else wanna take a shot at guessing? My Dad says that the winner gets to go to McDonalds on him!! How's that for a prize!
