He's here! And he made it just in time for Christmas! Sunday night we had gone up to Midway to spend Christmas at my Uncle's cabin. It's about 1/2 hour away from Provo so we figured if something happened we could make it down the mountain in time. I though for sure he would come late so we didn't even pack my hospital bag! Well....monday morning at about 4:30 am I was woken up by my water breaking (not a very pleasant experience). About a half hour later contractions started so we headed down the mountain. Of course this Christmas week has been the snowiest one I have seen in Utah so going down the mountain and into Provo took, what felt like to me, hours! But it really only took 45 min. By the time we got to the hospital I was in a ton of pain and dialated to a 4. They gave me the epidural, a double dose because I was in so much pain! And at 11:22 am little Carter was born. A whopping 10 pounds 2 ounces with chubby cheeks, a double chin and all!! We are so proud of our little chunky monkey! He's been through a lot already! The poor little guy was born with fluid in his lungs so he had to go to the NICU. Once they got the fluid out they found out his glucose levels were really low. So he had to stay longer and have a tub to give him some food. Finally at about 4:30 that day he was allowed to see his Mommy. Mike was able to stay with him the entire time he was in the NICU so Carter was never alone. He also has Jaundice, you probably can tell in the pictures. So for the past 2 nights he has had to sleep on a bed of bright lights. We take him to the doctor every day so he can get checked and his jaundice levels are dropping so hopefully he wont have to be under bright lights for too much longer. But we love him so much...we never knew it was possible to love so quickly and so easily and so much! Here are a few pics of the cutie pie.

Congratulations Lisa and Mike! he is so precious, I love those cheeks! 10 pounds lis, way to go. Im very impressed. Did you know beforehand that he was that big? Did you enjoy the experience anyway? Im glad he is doing good now. Poor little guy has been through a lot. How are you feeling Lis? I want to hear all about everything. Whats your phone#? AWW, congrats again you guys, I am so happy for you.
Congrats on the new addition he is a total cutie!! Once Erika gets over this cold we will have to come visit and see him for ourselves! Hope you have a speedy recovery. Let me know if you need anything!

Congrats Lisa! I'm glad I got to come and see you guys, even if it was quick. I'll have to come by the house sometime too since I've never seen where you live.

that is so wonderful lisa. i hope all is going well. he really is so cute. becareful what you call him. my lil' sis was born over 10 and my mom called her, her monster baby and stopped way before kate could talk. well after she could she called my mom her moster mommy. my mom was shocked. congrat's, that is so special.
Geez, what a story. I'm sad that you'll have to leave Carter to come back to work but I would be lying if I didn't say I am excited to hear all about being a new mommy! Congrats again! And I'm glad he is doing better now!
