David won

So we were playing golf on Sunday and it's mostly a game of luck because without looking at your cards you have to line them up in columns. You want to get the same numbers so that they cancel each other out. The point of the game is to get a low score and you can trade out cards by drawing or picking up until you have a good low score. By the 9th round (we play 9 "holes") either David, my cousin Conor, or my cousin Kevin could have won. Well, David was dealt a perfect hand and he lined them up perfectly, WITHOUT looking at them, which gave him a "0" score and he won the game. Chances of that happening are like one in a million!! So we took a picture :)

an update through pictures

In no particular order...here is a much needed update on the happenings of the Lindquist family over the past 4 months. Sorry to all my faithful readers but I make no promises of improving, life is way too crazy these days!

In January I took a cake decorating class and this is what I learned how to do. They get progressively better.

This cake is from a fondant class I just started this month. This is my very first fondant cake I made for my favorite co-workers birthday. There are a lot of flaws but I'm learning and I will definitely do better next week.

It tasted sooo yummy! Chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling :)

All the rest of the pics are of Carter. He is the center of my world and definitely keeps me busy! I feel like he is in his terrible two's already and is ALWAYS looking for something to destroy. Luckily we are poor so he doesn't have too many options of expensive things to break.

Reading himself a book

Extreme Fridge Climbing - he's really good at it!

We always love to take pictures of him sleeping because he's so cute. He always piles his blankets on his head, don't really know why.

Happy 90th Birthday Grandpa!!!!

This is a tribute to my cute cute grandpa who just turned 90. We had a big family birthday party for him and before the celebration we sat down with him and did a little interview type thing with a video camera. It was so nice to just sit and listen to him talk about his life and all the great things he has accomplished. He is such a great example of integrity, devotion, and determination. I loved listening to him talk about his wife and his family with such love in his voice and you can just sense how proud he is of where he and his family are at today. I really admire him and I hope someday, when I turn 90, I can look back on my life with as much contentment as he has! I love him so much and I can't wait for many many more visits with him!

Carter tried eating a lemon, and despite the sour taste, he kept eating it!

He was in heaven the entire time because everyone kept on feeding him! It looks like teeth but really that's part of a roll.

Update

Big news....Carter turned one!! And he's been walking since Thanksgiving. I'm amazed at how quickly he catches on to things and once he decides he wants to do it, it's like he always knew how and he just didn't want us to know! That's how he was with crawling and that's how he's been with walking. Such a little stud! He also got his 2 front teeth for Christmas which made for a lousy birthday! I ended up taking him to the emergency room because he had a fever of 102 for 3 days and wouldn't eat or drink. Who would have thought it was just those pesky little teeth?? But he got lots pf presents which he ended up opening on Christmas day along with all his other gifts. He wasn't too interested in them, however, he still opted for our cell phones and camera's over his new toys! Here are a few pictures from the past 2 months, ok so maybe it's been 3 months since I Iast posted...oops! :)

His cute birthday cake, actually it's 2 cupcakes together.

He likes to sleep this way, yes his bum is in the air!

His Dad helped him in :)

Happy Carter!

All bundled up at temple square to see the lights, it was SO cold that night!

Chirstmas morning, half asleep apparently.

Choosing the cell phone over all his toys!

Rarely can I get a decent photo of this man.

Notice: 1 toy, 2 cell phones

Finally, we found him a toy that he would rather play with than a cell phone! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Pack!

Playing with cousin Colton at Great Grandpa's house on Christmas day.

Watching TV, I had to take a picture because he's as big as the TV!

Being silly with Grandpa Cornball. ( A.K.A Grandpa Lindquist, we just call him that because he can be pretty corny with his jokes! But we love him!)

Homemade bread

Carter LOVES his blankets! When he sees them his face lights up and he runs to them and puts his face into them and usually rolls around in them. It's so cute but hopefully I can break that habit soon.

Halloween

Carter was a lion and he wasn't too excited about his costume but we made him wear it for a few pictures anyway!

I love his little tale!

His cousin Coleton came over for a Halloween "party". He, of course, is happy to be dressed up and posses perfectly for the picture! Cole is a lot more calm and easy going than Carter :)

SO cute!

Crawling Carter

Today is big day for Carter!!! Carter is on the move which means busy busy busy from now on. Time to officially "babyproof" the house and be on the look out for anything that is worth more than $5 that he might want to destroy (I'm pretty sure babies are drawn to that kind of stuff). Here is a video of his big accomplishment! It's pretty exciting!!! Once again, you will get a climpse of my baby voice :)

For Allison

Cute Pictures of Carter

Where's Carter??
We were in the other room and heard Carter whining but when we got into the living room, we couldn't find him! And then we did and had to laugh because he was stuck.

Carter has learned to pull himself up in his crib and he loves doing it! Sometimes in the middle of the night he will do it and then he gets mad because he's really tired and for some reason doesn't understand the concept of laying down and going back to sleep.

This is another cute trick. While he is sitting in his high chair, if you are behind him, he will turn around and look at you through the little hole...so cute!
